SnooZzr

Sometime last year, i was on my commute to San Francisco via our lovely BART system. For me, it’s about 25 mins on the average, however, there are the days it can take a bit longer. I had noticed on the ride both in and out, people are always falling asleep in the train. I wondered how often these people miss their stop. Born the idea of SnooZzr.

I had the pleasure of creating this fun app with the Loomis Group Lab. The team was able to flush out some of the interface and feature sets of SnooZzr. Among these is the Muni location based route finder. SnooZzr can call home, get the route you are traveling, and quickly identify potential stops to which a user may have interest. We also leveraged the sqlite database to store recent “snoozes” and favorites.

While the original concept was specific to a one use scenario, i am finding this app more and more useful in other ways. For example, while say traveling in Europe on a train, the SnooZzr can tell you when you are almost to your destination. Or maybe you parked your car in the city while participating in some holiday shopping? Set SnooZzr to mark your car before you leave, and like that, you can find your car again quickly.
